OE3.B2 Released: Enhanced Design and New Features
The latest version of our adapter, OE3.B2, is now available for you to download, 3D print, and test. This release brings significant improvements based on your invaluable feedback, and we're thrilled to share it with our community.
What's New with OE3.B2?
Fixed Spacing Issue: Adjusted the tight clearances that were causing assembly challenges.
Y-Axis Addition: Added a Y-axis mechanism to hold your phone more securely and keep the camera better aligned with the optical axis.
Enhanced Stability: The new Y-axis not only improves alignment but also adds an extra layer of stability to your setup.
A huge thank you to the hundreds of beta testers who 3D printed the OE3.B and provided such insightful feedback. Your contributions have been instrumental in refining this design.
Here are the specific changes made to OE3.B2, highlighted in blue:
Jaw: Clearance adjusted from 0.05 mm to 0.1 mm.
Z-axis light cover threads: Adjusted from 0.08 mm to 0.1 mm.
Z-axis, X-axis openings: Adjusted from 0.1 mm to 0.2 mm.
Y-axis added
Light cover (contact surfaces): Adjusted from 0 mm to 0.05 mm.
Ocular cover eyepiece thumbnut slot: Adjusted from 0.1 mm to 0.2 mm on three of four sides.
Ocular Frame jaw slot: Added 0.5 mm fillet.
Phone clamp (X-axis opening): Adjusted from 0.1 mm to 0.2 mm.
Y-axis added
Note: Different plastics have varying coefficients of friction. If you experience any stiffness, a small amount of petroleum jelly can be used to reduce friction between moving parts.

Print orientation: Keep the part in its original orientation.
Material: PETG recommended.
Infill: 100% (though not always necessary).
Layer height: 0.3 mm.
Supports: No supports needed!
